Customer Notes & File Uploads

Bundable lets your customers leave a note and optionally upload a file (logo, design, artwork, etc.) when building their bundle. Both the note text and the uploaded file URL appear as line item properties on the Shopify order, making them easy to access during fulfillment.

Enabling Customer Notes

  1. Open the Bundable app in your Shopify admin
  2. Click Edit next to the bundle you want to configure (or create a new bundle)
  3. Scroll down to the Customer Note section
  4. Toggle Use Note to enable the note feature
  5. Optionally, check Note required if you want customers to provide a note before completing their bundle
  6. Click Save

When enabled, customers will see a note modal after clicking the checkout button on the bundle page. They can type their message and then complete the bundle.

Enabling File Uploads

You can also allow customers to upload a file along with their note. This is ideal for:

  • Custom logo or design submissions
  • Personalization artwork
  • Reference images or documents

To enable file uploads:

  1. First, make sure Use Note is enabled (see above)
  2. Check Allow file uploads underneath the note settings
  3. Click Save

The file upload is always optional — customers can submit a note without attaching a file.

Supported File Types

Customers can upload the following file types:

  • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
  • Documents: PDF
  • Design files: AI, EPS, SVG, PSD

The maximum file size is 10 MB.

How It Appears on Orders

When a customer submits a note and/or file, the information appears as line item properties on the Shopify order:

  • Additional Note: the customer’s note text
  • Uploaded File: a clickable link to the uploaded file on Shopify’s CDN

These properties are visible in your Shopify admin order details, and are included when exporting orders or using third-party fulfillment apps.

The uploaded file is stored securely on Shopify’s CDN (Content Delivery Network) under your shop’s Files section. You can also find uploaded files by going to Settings → Files in your Shopify admin.

Customizing Labels

You can customize the labels used for notes and file uploads using the Translations feature on each bundle:

  • Add a Note: the heading on the note modal
  • Note Placeholder: the placeholder text in the note textarea
  • Cart Note Title: the label for the note in the cart/order properties (default: “Additional Note”)
  • Cart Upload Title: the label for the file URL in the cart/order properties (default: “Uploaded File”)
  • Complete Bundle Button: the submit button text in the note modal
